Ingredients for 10 – 12 patties
2.2 pounds beef
2.2 pounds pork
5 garlic cloves
1 tablespoon marjoram
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon pepper
Toppings
2 bell peppers
2 spring onions
2 tomatoes
2 lettuce leaves
Directions
Grind beef and pork. Finely chop onion and garlic. Mix meat with chopped onion, garlic and add marjoram, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
Form patties with the help of food-friendly plastic bag,
Saran wrap, or just use your hands.
No need to make them look like perfect circles.
The idea is to make the patties thin with no pointy edges to make sure they cook evenly and don’t get burned at the sides.
Cube bell peppers, tomatoes, and spring onion.
Shred lettuce into short strips.
Start your grill. We prefer cooking with wood and charcoal, but you can use other options.
Cook the patties for about 3 to 5 minutes on each side, or to desired doneness.
Cut the buns in half and place them on cooked patties still on the grill to soak up all the good juices, then move them to the grill for 1 minute. When done, spread the bottom half of the bun with a tablespoon of mayonnaise, sprinkle on a little cayenne pepper, add a teaspoon of mustard and ketchup. Add cooked patty and top with cubed spring onions, bell peppers of various colors, and tomatoes. Cover with the top half of the bun and enjoy!
